How to Create a Task Rule

Task Rules automate how incoming task records are processed upon import into PaSTA. Administrators can set conditions and assign actions such as scheduling, blocking import, updating progress, or sending notifications.

  1. Open the Administration screen.
  2. Open the Process Controls panel.
  3. Click the Task Rules tab.
  4. Click New Rule and enter a name for the rule.
  5. Enter “If” conditions that determine which records to process when the rule is triggered. These conditions relate to values in a task record.
  6. Select “Then” actions that tell PaSTA what to do with the incoming record:
    • Schedule: Auto-schedule the record.
    • Do Not Import: Do not import the record.
    • Change Color: Set the fill color of a specified column.
    • Update Progress: Set PROG to a specified value.
    • Email: Send an email notification.
